Ginger Lowers Blood Sugar Level

Ginger is one of the most popular spices in the world. It is used to relieve from various diseases, including colds, pregnancy nausea and pain caused by arthritis.

New research made by scientists from Iran reveals that ginger can help control blood sugar levels, which is especially useful for people suffering from diabetes type 2.

The study included 88 people who suffer from type 2 diabetes. The scientists randomly selected participants who will, in a period of eight weeks, get a daily take of 1 gram of ginger supplements three times a day.

Other participants took a placebo. It is important to point out that all the participants continued with regular therapy for diabetes.

The results showed that the participants, who took ginger had significantly lower blood sugar levels, reports Prevention.

All participants were middle-aged and had excess weight, but were not overweight. It is interesting that ginger helped in maintaining blood sugar levels stable, which also reduced the need to use drugs.

Scientists are still not clear how ginger reduces blood sugar levels, so they to plan to continue the research.

But scientists warn that ginger can impair the action of drugs against blood clotting and recommend that you do not take ginger if you are using these drugs. Be sure to consult your doctor before using ginger as well as any other spices or supplements with medicinal properties.
